Guidelines Set For Reopening Airport
The Supreme Committee of the Council of Ministers has approved a plan to restart incoming flights at the Kuwait International Airport starting from the beginning of August, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The incoming passengers will have to abide by all health procedures and requirement which are to be followed in detail and without any exception.
Priority for return is given for expatriates working in ‘specific’ government jobs – the most important of which are the personnel working for the judiciary, doctors, teachers and the nursing staff.
The sources told the daily, before booking tickets, the passenger is required to acquire the “PCR” certificate proving that he/she is free from the coronavirus.
The document has to be certified by the health authorities accredited in the country, and attach the copy of contract as proof of government employment.
The source added, if any incoming passenger is found infected with the virus, he/she will be immediately sent to the institutional quarantine, and will have to bear all the expenses of quarantine, treatment and smears.
If the passenger refuses to comply with the health requirements, he/she will have to return to his country.
Regarding the return of employees working in the private sector, the source said they must have specific health insurance and clear terms, preferably recent demand that requires treatment by private sector companies and institutions and private hospitals, with the need to obtain a certificate proving that he/ she is free from corona and other infectious diseases.
However, the sources said there is a proposal concerning marginal employment – which is still under study – that includes calling the employer in the private sector to the Immigration and Residence Affairs Department to find if he desires to reemploy his worker and then obtain the approval from the Ministry of Interior, Civil Aviation and the Public Authority for Manpower and conditions will be imposed on sponsors.
The sources confirmed that those who book the ticket and take the flight to Kuwait directly without adhering to the health and security conditions, will expose himself to legal procedures that may affect airlines.
