First Suspects In Vote-buying Operation Taken Into Custody By State Security

Two delegates representing a candidate in the first constituency have been arrested in the first seizure made by State Security to combat the phenomenon of vote-buying. The squad was formed by the State Security Investigations Authority under Lieutenant-General Salem Al-Nawaf, who also heads the apparatus.

According to local sources, 6 other voters - five women and one man - were arrested for allegedly selling. All the arrested are from the Dasma district. According to the sources they are being investigated and referred to the Public Prosecution.

Sources confirmed that audio and video clips document the seizure of vote-buying, and the purchase was made through bank links.

To complete investigations and refer the accused to prosecution, State Security is working with the Public Prosecution Office.
