Filipina Who Was Found Dead Inside A Freezer Identified
A Filipina maid who was found dead inside a freezer in a flat in the district of Al-Shaab, Hawali, in Kuwait last week has been identified.
Philippine Labour Minister Silvestre Bello II said that a DNA test had identified the woman as Joanna Daniela Dimapilis.
Her body was discovered inside a freezer in flat rented a Lebanese man, who left the country, along with his Syrian wife in early December 2016.
The landlord of the building had won a court verdict to evict the couple from the flat for non-payment of a year's rent.
It is feared the body went unnoticed inside the freezer for up to 16 months, ever since the couple fled the country, fearing a court travel ban over financial cases.
The Kuwaiti authorities said that they could seek an international red notice to help track down and bring them back to justice.
A report published in today’s Alrai newspaper identified the fugitive husband and wife as Nader Assaf (40) and Mona Hassoun (37).
The Kuwaiti daily said that the couple are reportedly in Syria.
