Egypt Man Forces Wife To Attend Engagement To Another Woman
The Egyptian media reported that a woman filed 13 lawsuits against her husband for making her attend his engagement ceremony to another woman.
The woman reported that her husband forced her to attend the engagement ceremony or she would not have access to their children.
"I was short of word to learn that my husband's new wife was my close friend. There was only one option for me then: either resist my husband's oppression or accept the status quo and let myself go," she said.
As for me, I chose option one. In response to my husband's refusal to accept my objection to his second marriage, I filed thirteen separate cases, including a divorce petition. I was even threatened with having my jewellery taken and given to his second wife. His goal was to see me suffer grief, sorrow, and oppression.
According to her, despite being well-off, he humiliated me and refused to care for his children so that I would agree to accept his second marriage.
Court proceedings are still ongoing and a verdict is expected shortly.
