Dgca To Earn Kd848,000 For Assisting The Return Of Domestic Workers

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is expected to generate an estimated KD848,000 in revenue of from facilitating the return of domestic workers, following the settling of arrangements under a contract signed between DGCA and the National Aviation Services Company (NAS) for the return of domestic workers stranded outside Kuwait, following a decision by officials, Alanba daily said, quoting a responsible source.

The sources said to the daily that the value of the contract signed with the NAS Company would be under two clauses, the first at a cost of KD1 for each worker to be tested in laboratories for the coronavirus.

As for the second item, it is for the amount of 40% of the profit made for the return for each worker under the safety program. The plan for the return of domestic workers is divided into two phases: the first is solely for the travel of domestic workers from India and the Philippines. The second phase allows for the rest of the countries, with the logistical services including the Department of Security, Services and Transportation, three (PCR) tests, three meals and a 14-day quarantine stay in one facility under the supervision by the Ministry of Health. The number of domestic workers abroad expected to return is about 80,000 people, while the daily number estimated to avail of flights to the country is 600.
