In light of the protracted corona pandemic, people remain hooked to the fringes of any happy occasion to escape the atmosphere of boredom and gloom that continues to cast a shadow over the entire world, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

On Valentine’s Day, February 14, flower and gift shops became very popular, as citizens and expatriates rushed to buy flowers and gifts decorated with red hearts and ribbons to share with their loved ones and to express their feelings towards them, using this emotional occasion as an opportunity to put boredom and depression behind them.

A number of flower and gift shops saw the demand for red roses and a bouquet was sold for ten dinars, while the prices of bouquets prepared at the request of the customer exceeded fifty dinars. They explained that the girls and women customers were keen to buy red bears decorated with hearts, of different sizes, while some were satisfied with simple gifts befitting the occasion.
