Court Sentenced 10 Year Imprisonment With Hard Labor For Joining Is
The Criminal Court issued its verdict on the State Security case filed against a Kuwaiti hacker who was accused of joining DAESH terrorist organization and promoting its ideology via the Internet. The court sentenced him to ten-year imprisonment with hard labor, and ordered the confiscation of his computer and mobile phone.
According to the case file, Ministry of Interior had announced the arrest of a 1990-born Kuwaiti citizen, identified as A.N., who was an employee of a state institution. He was accused of using a computer in his workplace for hacking official websites of friendly and sisterly countries and promoting DAESH ideology with the help of accomplices.
Detectives, after months of observing the suspect, had caught him redhanded while he was hacking an official website. When questioned, the suspect confessed to committing the crimes and revealed details about his three accomplices.
With the cooperation of Iranian and Jordanian authorities, two of the suspects, who were in Iraq, and the third suspect, who was in Jordan, were arrested. They were then referred to the Public Prosecution from where they were sent to the court following completion of investigations.
