Contract For Ils On 3rd Runaway Of Kuwait Airport Approved
According to reliable sources from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), DGCA recently addressed the State Audit Bureau regarding the approval of the supply, installation, operation, training, warranty and maintenance services for the Instrument Landing System (ILS) on the third runway, reports Al-Qabas daily.
They indicated that this contract includes updating and modifying the system’s locations on the current eastern runway at Kuwait International Airport, affirming that DGCA is awaiting the approval of the regulatory authorities to start implementing the contract.
Meanwhile, Director of Air Transportation Department at DGCA Abdullah Al-Rajhi decided to impose fines on 19 airlines and travel and tourism agencies for violating the laws and circulars issued by the aviation authority regarding the air transportation market.

In a press statement issued after the Complaints and Arbitration Committee’s meeting, Al-Rajhi said the committee looked into travelers’ complaints as well as the violations committed by travel and tourism agencies and companies in the previous period prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He affirmed that the committee will meet this month to review the remaining violations.
Al-Rajhi called for the need to adhere to implementing all laws and circulars issued to regulate the air transportation market in Kuwait,.
He stressed the importance of cooperation in issuing the necessary penalties against violators in order to preserve the rights of the state and travelers.
In this context, Al-Rajhi revealed that five companies and travel and tourism agencies have been caught with violations during the continuous inspection tours.
He stated that the agencies violated the laws and circulars issued by DGCA, and were referred to the Complaints and Arbitration Committee to take the necessary measures.
He affirmed that sudden inspection visitations will happen, and necessary penalties will be imposed against the violators, adding that the law will be applied on all violators in the air transportation market.
