Civil Service Commission Observes 170 Violations Across Ten Government Agencies
The Employment Affairs Oversight Sector of the Civil Service Commission has reported 170 violations within ten government agencies over a six-month period. While 74 violations have been rectified, 96 remain unresolved.
Among the agencies, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry topped the list with 41 violations, followed by Public Works with 31 violations and the Ministry of Interior with 23. Other notable offenders include the Ministries of Electricity and Information, each recording 21 violations, while Foreign Affairs and Endowments registered nine violations each. The Ministry of Education reported eight violations, Finance had five, and Transportation had the fewest with only two violations.
Last month, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers addressed the concerned ministries regarding these violations, stressing the importance of cooperation with the Civil Service Commission as per Cabinet Resolution No. (1297 Second), issued at meeting No. (349/2022) on November 28, 2022.
This collaboration aims to bolster the administrative work system's control. In its meeting No. (8/2024) on February 27, the Council of Ministers reviewed recommendations from meeting No. (4/2024) of the Economic Affairs Committee, held on February 19, regarding this matter.
The Civil Service Commission's report covered observations from January 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023, detailing monitored activities across ministries, government departments, and attached agencies. The report also outlined corrective actions taken and ongoing observations.
Among the most common violations were allowances and rewards, delegation in specialty, holding supervisory positions, prior supervision, and working outside one's specialty.
The writers requested appropriate measures be taken by relevant entities to resolve and prevent observed violations, in coordination with the Civil Service Commission.
Entities without violations include the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of National Assembly Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Oil, and the Ministry of Health.
