Civil Service Bureau Transfers 2,500 Employees: Procedure And Financial Considerations

11 March 2024 Kuwait

Dr. Issam Al-Rubaian, the head of the Civil Service Bureau, recently convened with leaders of the Supreme Council for Provincial Affairs to discuss the implementation procedures for transferring employees to the Civil Service Commission. This move, mandated by a decision from the Council of Ministers, aims to redistribute these employees across various government agencies.

The decision encompasses 2,500 employees across different job grades. Due to the ongoing suspension of inter-agency transfers, obtaining an exception from the Civil Service Council is necessary to proceed with the implementation process.

Notably, the transfer process requires tailoring financial grades for the transferred employees, ranging from the first to the fifth class. However, it is crucial to maintain their current job grades, titles, financial benefits, and statuses without aligning them with newly established financial grades typically assigned to new graduates.

Dr. Issam Al-Rubaian emphasized, "The matter will be presented to the Civil Service Council to ensure that the transfer process does not affect supervisory positions and promotional grades in the entities they are transferred to."

Reassuringly, sources confirm that salaries for the 2,500 transferred employees are guaranteed until they are placed in equivalent financial and job grades within the new government agencies.
