Civil Service Bureau Implements Employee Fingerprint Integration Across 28 Government Bodies

22 April 2024 Kuwait

Recent reports from Al-Anbaa newspaper reveal that 28 ministries, government entities, and institutions in Kuwait have successfully integrated employees' attendance and departure time fingerprints with the systems of the Civil Service Bureau.

This strategic move is in alignment with the decision of the Civil Service Council to link the fingerprints of all ministries, agencies, and institutions with the integrated systems of the bureau.

According to sources, the remaining 27 entities out of a total of 55 are currently connected to the bureau's integrated systems and are in the process of finalizing procedures to integrate employees' fingerprints with the Civil Service Bureau.

The decision to link employees' fingerprints to the Civil Service Commission is aimed at maintaining the requirement of a 30% fingerprint verification during employee evaluations, as emphasized by the sources.

In response to inquiries regarding exceptions for certain entities due to unique working conditions, the sources clarified that there are no exemptions for linking employees' fingerprints in any of the 55 entities under the bureau.

Furthermore, Resolution No. 2 of 2024, issued by the Civil Service Council concerning fingerprint linking, mandates that all government agencies must automatically connect with the integrated civil service systems at the Civil Service Bureau. This is for the implementation of the attendance and departure verification system via fingerprint, as well as for the official implementation of work rules, provisions, and controls.

It is the responsibility of the competent leader and their immediate subordinate to ensure the seamless implementation of this automatic connection. The extent of commitment to this directive is included in the evaluation process of occupants of leadership positions.
