The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Dr. Abu Al-Kalam Abdul-Moamen revealed that he had offered Kuwaiti government officials that Kuwait take advantage of the distinguished position of Bangladesh by establishing 'precautionary' oil refineries there to be an outlet for it in the event of any serious tension in the Arabian Gulf at any time in the future.
Abdul-Moamen, who recently visited the country as a special envoy of his country's government to offer condolences on the death of the late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, indicating that Kuwaiti officials told him that Kuwait will soon announce its decision to reopen the labor market for Bengali workers.
In response to a question about the Bengali MP who is being tried in Kuwait on charges of human trafficking, Abdul-Moamen asserted that his information indicates that the Bengali representative, who has been arrested in Kuwait for a few months on charges, is being tried as an expatriate and that he did not hold a diplomatic passport when he was arrested, indicating that he did not mention He referred to this issue in his talks with Kuwaiti officials during the visit.
