Ban On Social Events, Condolence Meetings Until Feb End

In line with the implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers holding of social events in temporary wedding tents, hotels and the like, including condolence meetings in cemeteries have been banned from Sunday, Jan 9 until Feb 28, 2022. This is in addition to commitment by all shops of every kind to apply health requirements and prevent gatherings.

Al-Rai quoting security officials that, to enforce the Cabinet decision, 6 security teams will be roaming the six governorates, each team comprising about 15 securitymen, to support the Kuwait Municipality which will be monitoring all halls to impose the decision and take legal measures against those who do not comply with the decision

The source added, each of the six teams will be headed by a governorate security director from the six governorates, noting that all governorate security directors have been informed of the need to monitor any celebrations taking place, whether in homes, chalets, farms or stables, and violators will be referred to the competent authorities and register a case against him.

The source revealed several meetings were held during the past two days between the Ministry of Interior and the Municipality and some other government institutions to unify efforts regarding the implementation of the Cabinet’s decision, determine the mechanism and how to distribute securitymen to support the Municipality.

The source explained the security points inside the malls have been reinforced with new security personnel that operate in two shifts in the morning and evening to support the Municipality teams in the malls, stressing on the need to adhere to health requirements, and banning the entry of unvaccinated people, in cooperation and coordination with the administrations of those complexes.

The source stressed the instructions issued to the security men are clear and explicit, and stipulate that all decisions issued by the Council of Ministers must be strictly implemented, including adherence to health requirements in the country, and that there is no tolerance with anyone who violates these instructions, and a case will be registered against any violator of health requirements and referred to the Special Misdemeanors Court.
