Appeals To Remove Mp's Immunity Over Expats Residence Scandal

13 November 2023 Crime News

A current MP accused of faking expatriate residency transfers has had his trial postponed to January 7 next year by the Criminal Court. As a result of this delay, he will be able to address Parliament for the lifting of his immunity.

The accused representative was present before the judge during yesterday's session, but he was not formally charged. As the session concluded and the decision was issued, it was revealed that the court refrained from questioning him due to an ongoing legal obstacle, the existence of immunity.

The citizen accused the deputy of orchestrating the transfer of work permits of employees working for him to another company without his knowledge, and demanded legal action against him.
