6-year-old Sadhika Taken To Delhi By Iaf Flight For Cancer Treatment

26 April 2020 Kuwait

Six year old Indian child 'Sadhika' was taken to Delhi on Indian Air Force special flight from Kuwait for emergency treatment thanks to the timely intervention of External Affairs Minister V Muraleedharan.

The flight services were stopped in Kuwait and India announced lockdown just when Sadhika - the six-year-old daughter of Ratheesh Kumar - was about to come to Kerala for the treatment. That was when the family sought the help of Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, Meenakshi Lekhi MP and VK Sreekantan MP. According to Sadhika's parents, the matter was brought to the notice of Minister V Muraleedharan through UAE based Indian People Forum.

On Saturday, when the Indian Medical team, who came to Kuwait two weeks before on the special request from Kuwait Prime Minister H.H. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, was returning to India, Sadhika and her parents were one of the special passenger. A special permission was sought from the central ministry for this special evacuation on humanitarian basis. The Minister’s office also arranged special appointment at AIMS for her treatment. Sadhika reached Delhi on Saturday in the same Air force flight that took the medical team to Kuwait. Her treatment will start on Monday at AIIMS.

Sadhika’s parents have been working in Kuwait for a long time.
