64,000 traffic violations issued in a week


The Traffic and Operations Sector, led by Major General Yousef Al-Khudda, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Traffic and Operations Affairs, has conducted extensive traffic and security campaigns across Kuwait's governorates. Here are the detailed outcomes and efforts highlighted in recent operations:


  1. Traffic Violations and Enforcement:

    • A total of 64,000 traffic violations were issued.
    • 49 reckless drivers were arrested.
    • 112 vehicles and 421 motorcycles were impounded.
    • 28 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution Office for driving without licenses.

  2. Traffic Department Operations:

    • Patrols across the six governorates conducted campaigns resulting in 50,720 various violations.
    • 28 minors driving without licenses were arrested.
    • 87 vehicles and 421 motorcycles were impounded.

  3. Accident Response and Management:

    • Responded to 1,500 accidents, including 230 with injuries and 1,270 collisions.
    • Handled 3,127 reports and referred 17 wanted individuals for various offenses.
    • Seized 93 vehicles sought by security and judicial authorities.
  4. General Department of Emergency Police Operations:


    • Conducted security campaigns resulting in:
      • Arrest of 13 individuals wanted by authorities, including 12 with outstanding prison sentences.
      • Apprehension of 30 individuals with arrest warrants and eight expatriates for absenteeism cases.
      • Issuance of 14,024 traffic violations, including 105 for illegal parking.
      • Impounding of 25 vehicles and seizure of 104 wanted vehicles.
    • Referred 28 individuals to the Narcotics Department for drug-related offenses.
    • Arrested 24 individuals for drunkenness and recorded nine cases of possession of intoxicating substances.

  5. Emergency Police Patrols:

    • Managed 117 reported accidents and handled various incidents including theft, fights, suspicious activities, fires, and deaths.
    • Assisted in 285 incidents reported to the Ministry of Interior's operations room.
    • Recorded 472 proof of cases and arrested five individuals without residency permits.

These operations highlight the comprehensive efforts of Kuwait's Traffic and Operations Sector to ensure safety and order on the roads and within communities.
