500 Kilograms Of Expired Food Items Seized In Shuwaikh

Department of Encroachment Demolition at Capital Municipality embarked on campaign to inspect some warehouses in Shuwaikh Industrial Area and Rai and seized 3 tons 500 kilograms of expired food items.

Head of Department Engineer Abdullah Jaber stated inspectors of Team “B” confiscated and destroyed 300 kilograms of spoilt olive oil, 2500 kilograms of egg, and 700 kilograms of cheese. He said the officials issued 33 citations, of which 20 involved foodstuffs and 13 for billboards.

He urged consumers to buy foodstuffs from certified outlets and call the Municipality via 1844448 whenever they suspect foul play. He assured the officers are working around the clock to receive complaints and will promptly forward cases to concerned units for necessary action.
