480 Complaints Regarding Domestic Workers In February

Department for Regulating the Recruitment of Domestic Workers released statistics revealed the total number of complaints registered in the Department reached 480 complaints in February, Al Rai reported.

The breakdown of statistics show that there are 33 complaints from an employer against offices and companies, in addition to 169 complaints from a domestic worker against an employer, 239 complaints referred to the judiciary, in addition to one complaint from an office against an employer.

The statistics also showed that there were 200 complaints of absconding referred to the judiciary, 23 complaints of passport confiscation, which were handed over to the workers, 277 complaints submitted by an employer against their domestic workers, and 65 complaints that were resolved amicably between the parties.
