4500 Food Baskets Are Distributed By Red Crescent
On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society announced the delivery of 4,500 food baskets to needy families who have registered with the Society.
According to a local Arabic daily, the Society's Secretary-General Maha Al-Barjas expressed the society's eagerness to meet the needs of these families in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). This contributes to increasing the spirit of social solidarity among members of society and alleviating financial burdens on families, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Al-Barjas stated that one food basket contains a month's worth of food for the family, including rice, sugar, dates, edible oils, chicken, and canned food.
She said that the organization also helped the poor and needy beyond Kuwait, including in Yemen, Comoros, and Syrian refugees in Lebanon, as well as in Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Malawi, and Ghana, Sudan, Senegal, and Palestine. She emphasized that this assistance represents the Kuwait Red Crescent Society's humanitarian mission.
She praised the commercial sector, banks, citizens, and residents that donate to needy families through the association, emphasizing the necessity of continuing to provide to ensure the success of the local aid program.
