281 Firms In Violation Of Decision To Ban Working Under Direct Sun – ‘maintain Public Safety’
Director of the Public Relations and Media Department and official spokesperson of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Aseel Al-Mazyed confirmed that the inspection team tasked to monitor the implementation of the decision to ban working under the direct heat of the sun from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm during summer at the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety started working on the day the decision took effect, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a special statement to the daily, Al-Mazyed revealed that the team inspected 377 sites from June 1-17; resulting in the arrest of 439 workers, discovery of 281 companies that violated the decision, and issuance of warnings to avoid repeating the violation. She added that during the re-inspection of some sites; the team found 135 companies have complied with the decision, while one has yet to rectify the violation. She said 22 reports about violating the decision were received through electronic media. She called on the employers to adhere to the decision to guarantee the safety of workers and avoid legal accountability; stressing that the goal of the decision is to maintain public safety without disrupting any operation as the employees can work in the evening.
