26,778 Citations Issued For Traffic Violations And 95 Vehicles Impounded

As part of the efforts exerted by the General Traffic Department and based on instructions from Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs Major General Yousef Al-Khadda, the department’s officers issued 26,778 citations for various traffic violations and impounded 95 vehicles and 93 motorcycles in one week. According to the weekly statistics of the General Traffic Department, 32 people who committed serious violations were detained in traffic custody, and 63 wanted vehicles were seized. Also, 49 juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution for driving vehicles without a driver’s license, and five violators of the residency law were arrested. Two people who were in an abnormal condition and four people in possession of suspected narcotic substances were referred to the concerned authority.
