1,177 Illegal Billboards Removed
The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality declared that the emergency team of Capital Municipality held intensive campaigns throughout the month of August during which large number of shops and shopping malls were inspected, illegal advertisements were removed, buildings with violations were issued warnings, complaints over accommodation of bachelors and food related complaints were handled and citations were issued against hawkers.
In a press release, the department explained that 1,177 illegal advertisements were removed, 1,134 pirated CDs were confiscated, 40 citations were issued against hawkers, 65 citations were issued against violating advertisements, 8 citations were issued against food-related violations, four warnings were issued against violating constructions, 12 warnings were issued against road-occupancy and public cleanliness related violations, three shops were closed down and 18 violators were made to sign pledges to comply with the municipality laws.
The department revealed that the team received a total of 13 complaints including ten construction-related complaints, two food-related complaints and one bachelor-housing related complaint. The acting head of the emergency team Zaid Al-Enezi insisted that the owners of shops and restaurants must follow the regulations of Kuwait Municipality in order to avoid being held legally responsible.
