Lawyer Submitted Formal Complaint Against A Detective Officer For Using Force Against An Egyptian Expat And His Friends
Lawyer Faisal Mohammad Al-Otaibi submitted formal complaint to the Prosecutor General against a detective officer of a police station and his subordinates for using force against an Egyptian expatriate and his friends. The lawyer alleged the officers arrested his client (the Egyptian) inside a money exchange shop alongside his friends, without legitimate reason for the action. The officers searched the plaintiffs and didn’t find anything incriminating on them. However, they took them to the police station and subjected them to torture to ensure they lie against themselves under duress. The officers later took his client to his residence and searched the place without prior warrant, which amounts to abuse of authority. He accused the officers of carting away a machine, computer and specific sum his client was planning to send home and to pay his rent.
