Shotgun Seized And SUV Driver Arrested In School Shooting
The Abdullah Al-Mubarak area saw a shooting episode yesterday afternoon in front of a boys' secondary school. In Farwaniya Governorate, the Criminal Security Sector, comprised of investigators from the Search and Investigation Department, arrested the SUV driver who fired random shots. The shotgun used in the incident was also seized by authorities.
At the entrance of the secondary school, the incident did not result in injuries, but it induced panic and fear among students. A person fired a shotgun in front of the school as students were leaving, according to reports from parents and students to the Ministry of Interior's operations room.
Following the reports, Security Directorate patrols, rescue police patrols, and detectives were dispatched to the scene. Investigators found four empty casings from a hunting rifle at the location, even though the shooter was not found. According to an official police report, the shooter, the parent's son's cousin, had previously argued with another student at the school.
In response to the random shooting, the parent provided authorities with a video. It was successful for detectives to identify the shooter, his companion, and the vehicle they were in. Subsequently, the accused individual and the firearm involved in the incident were apprehended. A swift response by the Criminal Security Sector ensures the safety and security of the school environment.
