Seized Goods To Be Auctioned By Customs

3,459 cartons of cigarettes, 49 parcels containing various goods, a 20-foot container containing spare parts, and another container containing personal items will all be sold at public auction, according to the General Administration of Customs. The majority of these cigarettes were seized by inspectors before being smuggled out of the country. According to a press release, the administration may cancel or postpone the auction for any reason it considers acceptable, with the option of doing so if the proper price is not reached or for any other reason it judges to be in conflict with its interests, according to a local Arabic daily.
