Ophthalmologist Warns That Staring At The Sun During Eclipse Can Damage One's Eyesight

On Monday, Ophthalmology Director Ahmad Al-Foudari warned that looking at the sun during a solar eclipse could damage or blind your eyes.

This came in a statement for news agency, in which he warned from staring at the sun for long as this phenomenon begins on Tuesday at 13:20:30 P.M., reaches its peak at 14:35:34 P.M., ends at 15:44:13 and the eclipse would reach a percentage of 53.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs on Monday called on mosques' imams and scholars to hold solar eclipse prayers on Tuesday. In a statement, the ministry said that Badr Al-Otaibi, assistant undersecretary for mosques, issued a circular specifying which mosques would be holding prayers at noon.
