Moi Has Written To Moh To Correct The Administrative Error In Collecting Health Insurance For Domestic Workers
The Ministry of Interior has written to the Ministry of Health to correct the administrative error which it has been committing for the past 17 years, the error that has cost the State Treasury millions of dinars.
A security source said the Health Ministry has been charging KD 5 in health insurance for domestic workers irrespective of the number of domestic workers a Kuwaiti family hires in violation of the law which permits the Kuwaiti family to pay KD 5 health insurance for the first three domestic workers and KD 50 for the subsequent workers.
The sources revealed more than 250,000 Kuwaitis have been hiring more than 3 domestic workers over the past 17 years, and this means the administrative error has cost the State loss in thousands of dinars.
The sources pointed out the Health Ministry may probably correct its mistake by obliging citizens who have benefited from this error to pay the money retroactively. This is public money and must be collected.
