Kuwait To Verify Citizenship Claims

According to local media, Kuwait has established a committee to verify the identity of people claiming to be Kuwaitis living abroad.

Representatives from the General Department of Criminal Evidence and the General Directorate of Nationality and Travel Documents make up the committee.

Those who claim to be Kuwaitis will have to undergo a paternity test before getting permission to come into the country. After interviewing those who claim to be Kuwaitis, a panel will verify their claims and authorize their entry into Kuwait.

Those who can prove they are Kuwaitis will be able to return with the assistance of the committee.

It will also carry out a paternity DNA test on Kuwaitis who claim child birth abroad in order to verify their identity and to ensure that their claims are correct.

A Kuwaiti citizen will be granted citizenship once all legal procedures have been completed.
