Kuwait Closes 10 Stores Selling Fake Designer Goods
In Salmiya and Jahra, the Commercial Control Department of the Ministry of Commerce has closed ten stores for selling counterfeit goods, including bags, clothes, shoes, and accessories for international brands. The Ministry of Commerce issued a statement stating that the closure of the stores is part of efforts to combat commercial fraud and counterfeiting trademarks and take legal measures against violators.
The seized items are estimated at 4,500 pieces, and those responsible for the stores have been referred to the Commercial Prosecution to complete the legal procedures and sign the agreement. Legal sanctions will be taken against them. Due to Kuwait's strict enforcement of intellectual property laws, including arresting counterfeiters, referring them to the judiciary, and seizing and destroying counterfeit goods, it has been named one of the countries that most violate intellectual property. Since counterfeit crimes and piracy negatively affect the economy and human health and safety, counterfeit crimes and piracy must be stopped.
