Annual Festival Boosts Shopping, Business In Kuwait
The festival kicking off the shopping bonanza in February each year energizes business in the country and promotes tourism, said chairman of the organizing committee for 'Hala February' festival Walid Al-Saqubi at a press conference on Wednesday.
The festival coincides with the 10th anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's assumption of power, the 25th anniversary since Liberation Day, and the 55th anniversary of the National Day, he said.
The festival will start January 29 with a seaside parade on Arabian Gulf street where onlookers can see an air show and a marine show besides a float parade in which floats will be sponsored by different government agencies and ministries as well as private sector entities.
There will be musical presentations on stage and sports activities including a marathon to be held on this annual much-looked-forward-to occasion. This 17th edition of the festival will run until February 24.Â
