The Place Promised in Our Early Days

In cooperation with Contemporary Art Platform and the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait, we are cordially invite you to attend a screening for the Japanese movie “The Promised Place - Behind the Clouds”, (2004) written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. It is an anime film whose events take place over several years in an alternative history in which the Japanese island of Hokkaido is occupied by some foreign forces. With the escalation of international tensions, the occupation begins building a mysterious tower that it is tracking. It attracts the attention of two friends who have been friends since childhood, but they separate after one of their friends disappears. They meet again and realize that their missing friend may be the key to saving the world.
