Uzbekistan Embassy Holds Round-table At Kuwait University

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in association with the Department of History, Faculty of Arts at Kuwait University, held a round-table discussion on 26 July at the faculty premises in Keifan, on the vital role that society has in ensuring social stability in a country, with specific reference to the experiences of Uzbekistan in this domain.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuwait, His Excellency Dr. Bakhromjon Aloev and the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Higher Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Ajmi, co-chaired the round-table discussions.

Professor Al-Ajmi, who began the event and moderated the discussions, spoke about aspects of social stability and experiential evidence on the role of proper education in cementing social cohesion and harmony.

Ambassador Aloev then continued the discussion by narrating the Uzbek experience in social stability under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoev. The ambassador highlighted the recent conference that President Mirziyoev had held with various religious figures, government officials and people from the fields of science and arts, as well as representatives from various women and youth committees, and the public.

The Uzbek president in his meeting with representatives of society had urged them to protect and promote the traditional values of Islam and highlight the historic role that Uzbekistan has played in developing Islamic culture and the sciences. He also asked them to work with the government to safeguard peace and tranquility in the country, raise people’s well-being and guide the children and youth to develop into healthy and socially responsible mature people.

Other speakers at the round table event included Dr. Mohammad Al-Feily, Dr. Hamad Al-Qahtani, Dr. Abdulla Mohammad Al-Hajeri, Dr. Sheikha Al-Jassem and Dr. Diyab Al Hamad. The speakers congratulated Uzbekistan and its leadership in upholding and reviving Islamic values and culture, as well as spearheading the initiative to protect and rehabilitate youth who had been misguided by deviant elements of society. The event was attended by several professors from the Faculty of Arts, members of the diplomatic corps, Uzbek embassy officials and the media.
