The PAM Is Committed To Upholding Global Anti-trafficking Efforts
The Committee on the Prevention of Human Trafficking recently conducted an inspection of the "Housing for Female Inmates" in Kuwait and received updates on the forthcoming center for male expatriate workers. The comprehensive tour, which included visits to dormitories and lodging halls, involved committee representatives and officials from the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM). The visit, which took place on January 24, 2024, at 10:00 pm, left a positive impression on Fahad Al-Murad, emphasizing Kuwait's global leadership in implementing laws.
In the relentless pursuit of preventing human trafficking and migrant smuggling, Hashim Al-Qallaf, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, led committee members to the Expatriate Worker Shelter Center in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Dr. Fahd Al-Murad, Acting Deputy Director General of the PAM Workforce Protection Sector, acknowledged the committee's visit and highlighted the international recognition received by the center.
The committee gained insights into the services provided at the shelter, encompassing healthcare, meals, and recreational activities for inmates. Dr. Al-Murad expressed gratitude for the committee's dedication to upholding the dignity and rights of expatriate workers. Detailed explanations were provided regarding the procedures for receiving workers and ensuring their well-being in accordance with international laws.
The visit included a thorough inspection of the center's facilities, such as activity and entertainment halls for female inmates. The committee also reviewed the measures taken to maintain cleanliness in inmates' rooms and ensure the adequacy of their supplies. The center's commitment to providing world-class accommodation for women was highlighted, with plans underway to establish a new center for male expatriate workers.
The cooperative efforts of the committee were commended for aligning with Kuwait's commitment to implementing laws and regulations on a global scale.
