The First Korean Hospital In Kuwait
AHNKANG Hospital, which specializes in the skeleto-muscular related chronic pain, opened a hospital in Kuwait on April 3, becoming the first Korean hospital in the country. Sponsored by the Kuwait medical foundation, the Beverly Hills Medical Center, the hospital is named AHNKANG Beverly Hills Medical Center.
AHNKANG Beverly Hills Medical Center is located in Kuwait City, Salmiya State, where many international corporations are located. The hospital practices non-surgical and steroid free treatment to cure acute and chronic pain. It is located on the sixth floor of the five-star Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait.
In April 2015, the Ministry of Health and Welfare signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its Kuwaiti counterpart to boost cooperation in the healthcare sector of both countries. I held two seminars in November 2015 and February 2016 in Kuwait, and have promoted the excellence of Korean medical techniques there.
In April 2016, I was the first Korean doctor to obtain a medical doctor license in Kuwait. It is very difficult to for a foreigner to obtain a doctor's license in Kuwait.
Ten interviewers come up with about 50 emergency situations to test the interviewee and if even one interviewer disagrees with the given answer, the interviewee will fail the test.
Due to this strict procedure, many doctors or interviewees from the US, United Kingdom, Germany and Lebanon failed to obtain their licenses. There were also unexpected written tests given by the interviewers.
In February 2017, the special medical needle I invented for fluoroscopic guided interventional microadhesiolysis & nerve stimulation (FIMS) to cure pain was officially registered by the Kuwait health ministry which lead to the completion of the preparation for the opening of the Korean hospital there.
The special round needle I invented is different from normal needles used in the other hospitals. It has a round tip and is used to stimulate super-sensitized joints and nerves of the damaged area allowing the body to form new tissue in the area to recover from previously inflicted damage.
There are nearly no side-effects caused by nerve damage or bleeding. Stimulating the damaged area increases the blood flow causing the body to regenerate damaged tissue in the affected area.
This treatment process is now the center of attention in many Middle Eastern countries. Some of the countries have a high level of income but have poor medical care or systems; hence their people tend to go abroad to America or the United Kingdom to get treatment.
In the past few years, lots of people from Middle Eastern countries have visited AHNKANG as the treatments provided here are completely harmless and this news has started to spread.
Although many hospitals in Korea have tried to open facilities in Middle Eastern countries, the outcome was rarely successful. There was little information about Kuwait health insurance, and medical licensing system for hospital equipment and medical staff.
AHNKANG Hospital is preparing an application for a KDIPA (Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority) license to establish an independent medical foundation and is planning to provide pain management, cardiovascular and diabetes centers, along with other excellent Korean medical specialties' departments to Kuwait.
