Road Work Begins In Jahra As Part Of Kuwait’s Maintenance Plan
In a continued effort to modernize Kuwait’s transportation infrastructure, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced the launch of a comprehensive road maintenance project in Jahra Governorate. This initiative is part of a broader series of newly signed contracts focused on improving both highways and internal roads across the region.
Dr. Al-Mashaan highlighted that the Ministry is steadfast in delivering projects within the scheduled timeframe while upholding top-tier engineering and quality standards. She stressed the significance of radical maintenance, which not only enhances road safety but also boosts durability and efficiency of the road network.
Cost-Effective Measures to Extend Road Lifespan
The Minister elaborated on the strategic benefits of both radical and periodic road maintenance, noting that these practices play a crucial role in prolonging the life of road infrastructure. By avoiding full-scale reconstruction, the Ministry can significantly reduce long-term financial burdens on the state.
Ongoing Works in Al-Qasr Area Under Contract 14
Engineer Mazid Al-Anzi, the supervisor overseeing Contract 14 in Jahra, confirmed that teams are actively executing radical maintenance in Al-Qasr area, Block 1, as per the Minister’s directives. The crews are ensuring progress aligns with maintenance timelines and standards.
The current phase includes asphalt scraping and spreading in Blocks 1 and 2, followed by street leveling and the repainting of speed bumps. Al-Anzi stated that once these stages are complete, the teams will move systematically through other blocks as planned.
Broader Vision for Kuwait’s Road Development
This initiative aligns with Kuwait’s long-term vision of improving public infrastructure to support safer, more efficient transportation networks. The Ministry's proactive approach complements other national efforts such as the recently launched digital platform for road issue reporting and earlier maintenance operations in Farwaniya and Hawally governorates.
