Road Maintenance Underway On Fourth Ring Road As Part Of National Projects
Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works, has confirmed the continuation of extensive maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road. This effort is part of a broader strategic initiative involving new contracts for the upkeep and enhancement of highways and internal roads across Kuwait’s six governorates.
Major Road Maintenance Projects Across Kuwait’s Governorates
In a press statement released on Thursday, Dr. Al-Mashaan detailed that this maintenance falls within a set of 18 major road infrastructure projects designed to deliver comprehensive improvements across the country. These projects focus on elevating infrastructure quality and prioritizing the highest levels of traffic safety for all road users.
Commitment to Quality, Timelines, and Sustainable Road Infrastructure
The minister emphasized the ministry’s dedication to completing these projects within set timelines while applying stringent quality control and engineering oversight. According to Dr. Al-Mashaan, the radical maintenance currently underway will significantly improve the efficiency and durability of Kuwait’s road network.
“The radical and periodic maintenance performed by the ministry plays a critical role in extending the lifespan of road infrastructure and postponing the need for complete reconstruction. This approach translates into substantial long-term cost savings for the state,” she explained.
Addressing Environmental Impact on Road Surfaces
Dr. Al-Mashaan also highlighted the importance of mitigating the effects of environmental factors, such as extreme heat and rain, which often cause damage to road surfaces. The ministry is committed to ensuring that all maintenance activities adhere to high standards of sustainability and durability.
Road Maintenance Supports Kuwait’s Economy and Quality of Life
Beyond infrastructure enhancement, Dr. Al-Mashaan underscored the broader economic significance of road maintenance. Effective upkeep contributes to sustainable development, efficient public spending, and smoother commercial activities. This, in turn, enhances the overall quality of life for both Kuwaiti citizens and residents.
