Reckless Drivers Jailed After Viral Videos
In a firm response to dangerous driving incidents during recent rainstorms, Kuwaiti authorities have arrested two reckless drivers and placed them in central prison under the directives of Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.
Eight Motorists Apprehended for Dangerous Driving
The Traffic and Operations Sector identified and detained eight reckless motorists whose hazardous driving was widely circulated on social media. These individuals not only endangered their own lives but also posed a serious threat to public safety across various locations in the country.
Following the viral spread of these videos, law enforcement swiftly launched an investigation. The Security Control Department at the General Traffic Department successfully tracked down the offenders through video surveillance and direct monitoring of their reckless behavior on the roads.
Legal Actions and Vehicle Confiscation
As part of strict legal action, the drivers’ vehicles were confiscated for two months, and necessary cases were registered before they were referred to central prison. The government has reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and taking decisive measures against violators.
Ministry of Interior’s Warning to Traffic Violators
The Ministry of Interior has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward reckless driving, especially in adverse weather conditions. Authorities have warned that anyone exploiting such situations to engage in dangerous behavior will face strict legal consequences.
Emphasizing the need for compliance with traffic laws, the Ministry underscored that the safety of citizens and residents remains its top priority. Drivers are urged to adhere to regulations and prioritize public safety to prevent accidents and fatalities on Kuwaiti roads.
