Quarter Ton Of Contaminated Meat Seized In Hawalli: Authorities Crack Down On Violations
Hawalli Authorities Seize 250 Kg of Contaminated Meat in Major Food Safety Operation
In a significant food safety operation, the Public Authority for Food confiscated 250 kilograms of contaminated meat in Hawalli, which was being thawed and sold as fresh. In addition to the meat seizure, authorities issued 11 violation reports and destroyed various adulterated food items found during the inspection.
The violations included:
Operating food outlets with expired licenses.
Selling adulterated food of unknown origin.
Food handlers working without valid health certificates.
Authorities also discovered that some vendors were thawing frozen meat, poultry, and birds and falsely selling them as fresh products.
Abdullah Al-Kandari, Director of the Hawalli Governorate Inspection Department, emphasized that legal actions are being pursued against those responsible for the violations. He reassured the public that round-the-clock inspections of food stores, central markets, and warehouses will continue, ensuring that food safety regulations are upheld.
