“Public Works Minister” Announces Extensive Major Road Maintenances Across Kuwait
Kuwait's Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan, announced the launch of an extensive road maintenance initiative covering all six governorates. This project, which includes 18 major road maintenance contracts for highways and internal roads, aims to strengthen the country's infrastructure as part of Kuwait’s “New Kuwait 2035” vision.
Commitment to Quality and Timely Execution
In a press statement on Sunday, December 29, Dr. Al-Mishaan stressed the importance of completing all maintenance projects swiftly while adhering to approved technical specifications. She emphasized the significance of quality and efficiency in the execution process, aligning with the recommendations of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah.
Prioritizing Affected Areas First
Dr. Al-Mishaan outlined the priority for repair work, starting with the most affected roads and gradually addressing less impacted areas. This strategic approach ensures that urgent needs are met first, enhancing safety and usability for residents and commuters.
Supervision and Monitoring Mechanisms
The Ministry of Public Works has established dedicated teams to closely monitor the progress of these projects. A committee has also been formed to select supervising engineers and conduct tests to ensure effective management. This meticulous supervision underscores the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency in infrastructure projects.
Call for Cooperation from Residents
Dr. Al-Mishaan urged residents in all six governorates to cooperate with the authorities during the maintenance process. She acknowledged that temporary road closures might cause inconveniences but assured the public of the project's long-term benefits in achieving a more reliable and robust road network.
High-Level Support for the Initiative
Expressing gratitude, Dr. Al-Mishaan commended the support of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled. Their directives reflect the political leadership’s unwavering focus on infrastructure development as a cornerstone of Kuwait’s growth.
