Paci Says Increase New Civil Id Fee To Kd 5
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) said Tuesday it would, as of April 1st, increase fees for a new Civil ID to five Kuwaiti Dinars, from current KD two, while doubling fee to KD 20 for a replacement ID.
PACI Director General Musaad Al-Asousi, in a statement, attributed increase to a recommendation by State Audit Bureau (SAB) which noted that cost of issuing a new Civil ID exceeded KD 4.5 vis-a-vis the KD two issuing fee.
Â
He said PACI has finalized necessary changes to its computers and financial systems. The new fees will take effect as of April 1, explained Al-Asousi. He said PACI has around 136,000 IDs ready for delivery, urging people to collect their IDs before April 1st of they would pay the new fees.
Al-Asousi said PACI would soon receive a new printer to honor the growing demands. He said PACI was issuing around 9,000 IDs everyday, while deliverying 8,000-10,000 IDs per day.
