National Labor Support Payments Approved For Women Under Article 8
The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait has officially commenced the disbursement of national labor support payments to 3,098 women whose Kuwaiti citizenships were revoked under Article 8 of the nationality law. These payments are scheduled for deposit this Thursday, provided the recipients meet all eligibility criteria.
This move aligns with Cabinet Resolution No. 420 of 2025, which reaffirms the government’s commitment to support female employees in the private sector impacted by such revocations. The measure ensures continued support despite their change in citizenship status.
Government's Directive Aims to Uphold Justice
The decision comes following instructions from Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, who stressed the importance of justice and safeguarding the interests of this vulnerable group. As per the official statement, while April payments will be processed this Thursday, retroactive payments will be issued alongside their May salaries.
This step not only reaffirms Kuwait’s commitment to social justice but also addresses a longstanding issue affecting many women who had been previously working in the Kuwaiti private sector under full national status.
