Minister Highlights Importance Of Upgrading Sahel App
Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar has reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing the Sahel App, describing it as a key component of Kuwait’s digital transformation strategy. In a recent statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Omar emphasized that the app remains central to the government’s vision of delivering secure, seamless, and efficient e-government services to both citizens and residents.
Development Focused Meeting with Key Stakeholders
In an expanded meeting held on Thursday with the Sahel executive committee, Al-Omar discussed plans to further enhance the app’s performance and user interface. Representatives from various government entities, including the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI), participated in the meeting. The agenda included updates on infrastructure development and technical integration across agencies.
Cornerstone of Kuwait’s E-Government Vision
Describing Sahel as the foundation of Kuwait's e-government vision, Al-Omar highlighted its role in reducing bureaucracy, promoting transparency, and increasing public satisfaction. By offering unified access to services from various ministries and institutions, the app enables users to complete tasks more quickly and with fewer complications.
Transforming Governance Through Digitization
Al-Omar emphasized that digitization is not merely a technical initiative but a transformative shift in public service delivery. It reflects Kuwait’s broader goals of ensuring fairness, transparency, and responsible public spending. The Sahel App embodies these national principles in a practical, user-friendly format.
Support for Sahel Executive Team and Interagency Coordination
Reiterating the government’s support, Al-Omar called for enhanced coordination among government agencies to accelerate service delivery, staying true to the principle: “Service begins with the citizen and ends with him.”
He further revealed ongoing development of the Sahel Business App, which is tailored for the private sector. This application aims to assist entrepreneurs and business owners in managing government transactions more effectively, supporting economic digitization and business facilitation.
