Kuwait To Offer Exit Permits In English For Expats Soon
The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has finalized preparations to implement the exit permit system for expatriate workers in the private sector, effective July 1. The system is designed to streamline exit approvals while protecting the rights of both employers and employees.
Coordination with Government Agencies
PAM is working in collaboration with other government bodies to ensure the smooth rollout of the system. A series of inter-agency meetings are being held to address feedback and resolve procedural challenges.
Digital Access Through Sahel and Easy Portals
According to Rabab Al-Osaimi, Acting Deputy Director for Planning and Administrative Development at PAM, the permit can be issued electronically via the “Easy Companies” or “Easy Manpower” pages under the Labor Services portal, as well as the Sahel Individuals application.
She noted that the service was launched under directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousuf to protect both employer and worker rights.
Fast and Transparent Exit Request Process
Employers can specify the worker's travel dates and submit exit requests digitally. Upon approval, a certificate with a QR code is issued for verification at border checkpoints, either electronically or in print. Workers can also apply directly via the Sahel app. Notifications and certificates are automatically sent following employer approval, with no manual intervention required.
Service Expansion and Efficiency
PAM confirmed that the English version of the service will launch soon. The authority continues to enhance its electronic services, which currently handle more than 30,000 digital transactions daily, improving both user experience and employee productivity.
