Government Nears Approval of Kuwaiti Nationality Law Amendments

Amendments to several key articles of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law are expected to receive official approval soon as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the national identity and prevent manipulation or fraud, according to a recent report published by Al-Qabas.

Council of Ministers Reviewing Proposed Changes

A government source confirmed that the amendments are currently under review by the Council of Ministers. The changes are anticipated to be approved shortly as part of a broader national strategy to tighten citizenship regulations and maintain integrity within the system.

Intensive Oversight of Citizenship Documents

The Supreme Committee for Investigating Kuwaiti Citizenship continues its daily scrutiny of all citizenship-related documentation without exception. The committee's operations are being closely supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, who has issued strict orders to arrest anyone found to have acquired citizenship through fraudulent means.

The committee’s investigations focus on identifying forged or manipulated citizenship records, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to legal and transparent citizenship procedures.

Grievance Committee Receives 29,000 Citizenship Appeals

In a significant development, the source revealed that around 29,000 individuals have submitted grievances to the Cabinet’s Grievance Committee for Withdrawal, Revocation, and Loss of Kuwaiti Citizenship. These grievances pertain to decisions involving the cancellation or revocation of citizenship status.

Established on March 11, this special committee is headed by Counselor Ali Al-Dhubaibi and operates continuously—including weekends and public holidays—to ensure timely responses and maximum accessibility for affected individuals.

Round-the-Clock Access and Assistance

To further support complainants, the committee offers 24/7 service and facilitates grievance submission through both online portals and dedicated support numbers. This ensures that even those facing technical difficulties can file their appeals with ease.

Government Prioritizes Transparency and Fairness

The formation and active operation of the Grievance Committee underscore the Kuwaiti government’s focus on transparency, justice, and fair governance. By allowing affected individuals to challenge citizenship decisions through a structured platform, the government is reaffirming its dedication to fair administrative practices.
