Kuwait Plans Emergency Evacuation From Iran
In response to escalating regional tensions, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a comprehensive emergency evacuation plan for Kuwaiti nationals currently in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Continuous Monitoring by Kuwaiti Embassy in Tehran
Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya stated on Tuesday that the Ministry, under direct instructions from the country's political leadership, is closely monitoring developments through its embassy in Tehran. The embassy is actively coordinating with Kuwaiti citizens in Iran to ensure their safety and well-being.
Officials from the embassy remain in continuous contact with nationals residing or visiting Iran, offering updated guidance and urgent support where needed. This comes as part of Kuwait’s broader effort to safeguard its citizens abroad, a key pillar of its foreign policy.
Urgent Advisory for Citizens in Iran
Al-Yahya urged all Kuwaitis currently in Iran to adhere strictly to embassy directives and to promptly register with the "Traveler's Emergency" service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The safety and security of our citizens remains our highest priority,” Al-Yahya emphasized, assuring the public that the Ministry is fully prepared to implement evacuation measures if necessary.
Government’s Commitment to Citizen Safety
The Ministry’s emergency action comes amid heightened concerns across the region. This move mirrors similar proactive steps taken in the past, such as Kuwait’s call for citizens to leave Lebanon during periods of instability, demonstrating the government’s ongoing commitment to protecting its people.
Preparedness and Regional Diplomacy
Kuwait’s diplomatic corps continues to liaise with Iranian authorities and regional partners to ensure a coordinated response to any developments. The Ministry has reiterated its stance on prioritizing citizen safety while maintaining diplomatic engagement with neighboring countries.
