Kuwaiti Media Outlet Introduces AI-Generated News Anchor for Online Bulletins

A Kuwait-based media organization has revealed an AI-generated news anchor tasked with presenting online news bulletins. Kuwait News introduced "Fedha," a digital image of a woman dressed in a black jacket and white T-shirt, on their Twitter account on Saturday, 8 April.

Fedha, the first of her kind in Kuwait, greeted users by saying, "I'm Fedha, the first presenter in Kuwait who works with artificial intelligence at Kuwait News. What kind of news do you prefer?"

Abdullah Boftain, deputy editor-in-chief, explained the choice of name, stating that "Fedha" is a traditional Kuwaiti name that means "silver," which is often associated with the color and appearance of robots. By combining the two concepts, they created a unique identity for their AI-generated news presenter.
