Kuwait's Education Reform Plan and Key Government Initiatives for 2025

The Minister of Education, Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, has been tasked with advancing the ministry's reform plan, which covers six essential areas aimed at improving education standards and administrative practices.

The Six Key Areas of the Reform Plan

The reform plan consists of six major axes, each focusing on improving various facets of education and government collaboration:

1. Administrative and Financial

This axis aims to enhance resource management, direct funds towards educational development, and reduce budget wastage.

2. International Standards for Education

Strengthening ties with international educational organizations to improve education curricula in Kuwait.

3. Education Development

Learning from advanced countries such as Finland and Singapore, with initiatives like teacher licensing and establishing the Aspire Sports Complex.

4. Engineering

The engineering axis is focused on building smart schools and refurbishing older educational infrastructure.

5. Ministry Automation

Improving electronic communication between parents, teachers, and students, alongside advancing e-learning systems.

6. Initiatives

This axis focuses on transforming schools into smart institutions to promote digital learning and engagement.

Government Support for Cultural and Sustainable Initiatives

Aside from education reform, the Council of Ministers has set the stage for Kuwait's participation in the "Kuwait, Capital of Arab Culture and Arab Media 2025" initiative. Agencies will cooperate to ensure the event reflects Kuwait's cultural identity.

Kuwait's Commitment to Combatting Financial Crimes

The Council also reviewed the Ministry of Finance's report on anti-money laundering measures, reinforcing Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining its global standing through FATF recommendations.

Optimizing Water Use in Sustainable Projects

The government aims to explore sustainable uses for treated water, especially for creating artificial lakes and supporting wildlife conservation efforts.
