The Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, announced the launch of the Annual Kuwait Media Award "Sheraa" today. The prestigious award aims to honor outstanding achievements in various media fields and foster the creation of meaningful, sustainable content.

Celebrating Kuwait’s Media Landscape

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Information, Al-Mutairi shared that the launch of the Sheraa Award coincides with the festive atmosphere surrounding the upcoming national holidays and the declaration of Kuwait as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media. The award is designed to highlight the significance of media in shaping public awareness and contributing to cultural and intellectual development.

Supporting Media Professionals and Encouraging Creativity

Al-Mutairi emphasized that the award is a reflection of the Ministry’s vision to support media professionals and encourage them to produce distinguished works. These works should contribute to enhancing community awareness and drive positive change across the nation.

The Minister also highlighted the continuous support from the leadership, including His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, which further strengthens the role of the media in Kuwait.

Furthermore, Al-Mutairi shared that the Sheraa Award will feature individual and group competitions across various media sectors. This initiative is designed to provide a creative platform for nurturing young media talents in Kuwait and supporting them in their career growth.
