Kuwait Airport Project Third Package Is 71% Completed
The General Administration of Civil Aviation announced on Sunday that the projects at Kuwait International Airport are progressing according to schedule, with the third package project's completion rate reaching 71%.
This was revealed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) by Deputy Director-General for Planning and Projects Affairs Saad Al-Otaibi following a field tour by a delegation from the Supreme Council for Planning and Development's General Secretariat in the presence of Director-General of Civil Aviation Yousef Al-Fawzan and Secretary-General of the Secretariat Dr. Khaled Mahdi, according to Al-Qabas daily.
The "Package 3" project, according to Al-Otaibi, consists of four main phases: the first is the development of Kuwait International Airport's southern area, the second is the construction of the new third runway, the third is the re-establishment and development of the eastern runway and the fourth is the construction of the new control tower.
He anticipates the completion of the new control tower in July, as well as the work on the third runway. Al-Otaibi stated that the inspection tour is part of "Civil Aviation's" desire to finish critical projects at Kuwait International Airport to the fullest extent possible.
