KFF Shuts Down Non-compliant Facilities During Joint Safety Campaign
The Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) has enforced the administrative closure of several commercial and residential establishments in Kuwait’s East District following a coordinated inspection campaign aimed at identifying fire safety violations and enforcing compliance with prevention regulations.
Joint Inspection Campaign Highlights Safety Concerns
According to Al-Rai daily, the campaign was spearheaded by Brigadier General Mohammed Yousef Ahmed, Director of Prevention in the Capital Governorate. The operation was conducted in collaboration with multiple government entities, including:
- Ministry of Interior
- Ministry of Electricity and Water
- Kuwait Municipality
- Public Authority for Manpower
Violations Found in East District Facilities
Inspectors found that numerous buildings and facilities had failed to adhere to the fire safety standards mandated by the KFF. These violations included blocked emergency exits, faulty fire alarm systems, and lack of proper fire extinguishing equipment.
Such oversights pose a significant risk to public safety, prompting the immediate administrative closures of the non-compliant facilities.
Authorities Committed to Fire Safety and Public Protection
This campaign underscores the unwavering commitment of Kuwait’s civil defense authorities to protect the lives and property of citizens and residents. The KFF emphasized that it will continue to take decisive action against any establishment that fails to meet safety requirements.
Officials also reiterated the importance of public cooperation and compliance, urging all facility owners and managers to perform regular safety checks and comply with fire prevention guidelines.
Public Encouraged to Report Hazards
The KFF encourages residents to report potential fire hazards by contacting emergency services or using official digital platforms. Increasing public awareness and community involvement are vital to preventing accidents and ensuring a safe environment for all.
